Went to Smithville today didn't get a bite but didn't try real hard. I was hoping the wind would blow the bait fish to bunch up on points and I could catch some white bass but the wind died down late afternoon. Forgot my light so didn't wait to see if the walleye were in shallow.

Talked to the clerk at the marina and she said that a guy limited out on crappie on Tuesday in a little over an hour fish the dock. They charge $5 a day to fish there.

The lake is pretty low and the water surface was 42 degrees with the normal green stain.

I'm guessing you may need minnows for Crappies but didn't ask anyone about bait.

Talked to one guy in a boat who said the bass were not hitting.
