Hit up Binder Lake Monday through today for some large mouth. Monday was very good. I added up 17 lbs 4 ozs on my best 5 bass and again I lost a good one at the boat so a 20 lb sack was obtainable. Tuesday was decent for numbers and I did manage a nice 4.5 pounder. Today was super slow and the only keeper size was 3.5 pounds. As usual I was pitching a jig around lily pads and then punching them when the sun got high. Also got some fish in the hardwoods. This is the first year I have punched for bass using a heavy weight. This technique is as addictive as top water. I love feeling that thump then trying to yank them out. Minimum 60 lb braid, high speed reel, and heavy flipping stick is a must. And coloring about three feet of the line black helps.
