    Default Help on Truman

I've never trolled crank baits before and I want to try it next week on Truman lake. My target fish will be crappie but white bass and hybrids would be OK. Besides in front of the Dam, what other areas of the lake would be good for trolling crank baits??? Deep water or shallow??? Main lake or coves?? Along bluffs or on the flats??? Any help will be appreciated!!

I have not trolled on Truman.
but if you try going into coves the trees will mess with you.

Up by the mile long bridge on the north side is a,good, spot for Hybrids when the lake is down more. I think the flats are a,good bet.
on crappie get down to 12 to 15 feet,if,possible.

stay away from the trees, Dam area , lots of open water, use deep divers, or extra weight if the fish are deep, but I bet trolling the shore line and bluffs will work,,, good luck

I'll go against the grain slightly. While the recommendations are good don't avoid trees entirely. Don't rule out trolling next to fenceline rows. Don't have to worry about hanging up, but lots of crappie hang out just off the structure

Welcome to the board. Be careful trolling cranks. It gets to be very addictive.

Pulling cranks on Truman is reason to buy an extending lure retriever. It will pay for itself quickly
