Default LOZ/Glaize Sat&Sun 5/2-5/3 (and this coming weekend)

My wife and I abandoned the teenagers and took to the water for the weekend. Left them home alone, and told the neighbors if they saw more than 16 cars in our driveway to start charging for parking.

Got down there late Friday and caught a handful, but they were spotty.

Saturday we did MUCH better, bagging what was probably the biggest limits we've every taken in one day. I think we had one 10" in there, and a whole bunch of 12"+, including a FAT 14" and a 15". I've got a pic of the 15" if I can get it loaded.

Sunday morning we fished for a couple of hours and did well also, but my trolling motor quit, and the wind wouldn't let me hold a position even at anchor, so we headed home. (Turned out to be a bad breaker = $12 repair)

We were using minnows, and caught almost all the fish in 18-25' of water, jigging 8-12' down, clinging to structure. All females, full of eggs, and a lot less bloody than I expected to see with these water temps. I'm guessing that this week, and this coming weekend, they'll be in the shallows.

We're headed back down this Friday afternoon to hopefully repeat the process (sans trolling motor issues), and dodge the thunderstorms. If you see an older black Skeeter with a MO crappie.com sticker on the back of the motor, drop a line.

Nice mess. Glad the TM fix was simple and cheap.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
