Went back today. The only open water is from Shawnee Bend back toward KK island. Sterrett Creek is iced in as is all of the Grand arm from pt 1 upstream. Pomme arm is iced over as well as everything below the dam.

Went back today and the ice has moved. The only open water is now in the area of the dam. The entire Grand and Tebo arms are ice covered from point 1 up stream. The Pomme arm is now frozen from Fairpoint upstream. Fairpoint ramp is now frozen. I did not check Osage bluff, but being located where it is I am sure it is iced in. The water was open back in the direction ok KK island, but there are rafts of ice in the middle that have broken free and are drifting. Yoe can go through them but not for long. Surface temp at the dam was 36.1. They did not run water below the dam so most of the river and all the dead water are ice covered until maybe Monday morning if the run any water. I would think the channel will open up if they run water, but it is a guess at this time. Watch the swpa.gov website foe scheduled power generation. if the run some water you should be able to launch at the old city ramp above the swinging bridge......I think.

Bucksaw and Sparrowfoot are locked up tight. Long Shola ramp is open but the docks are out of the water. Bucksaw still had some big rocks sitting on top of the ice that someone through out from the docks. I will see how far up the grand I can get tomorrow. Dam area was rough today with the strong west wind. But I am sure it helped open things up.

As of sunday afternoon the water was liquid right above the dam as far as we could see. Probably 3 dozen rigs in parking lot taking advantage of it.

Bucksaw ramp still froze. There is some open water in the channel in that area. So will not be long.

I am needing to test some issues on side imaging but I am sure ice will be a problem. Been running some water at Stockton and Truman. Any reports from the Sac or below Truman?
