Catfish with eggs

Caught a 5lb and a 6 lb channel cat Wednesday on the Osage River. The one was full of eggs. It hadn't spawned yet. Think it is kind of late for them. But the water temp was only 67. Think maybe water was still to cool for them. The eggs looked they were about to pop.

that is cold for this time of year. water is 81 out on the Mo. crappie spawn was late this year, bluecat spawn seemed to run a couple weeks late this year, too. why not channel cats? now that you mention it, I haven't caught too many channel cats lately...

In my area the gills spawned about three weeks ago. The following week
the channels were moved into the same areas and started their spawn.
Water temp was 78 - 81 deg at that time.
