Had a blast with lslangler (Mark) today before he headed back to St Charles.

He tried to teach me to catch rocks, but try as I may, I couldn't get the hook set down.

Caught em on jigs and on minnows under a bobber or just pitchin and slooooowww retrieve em back.

I pitched a minnow by a log, got hit right away, set the hook, fish pulled me under the log, on the way back out, the hook took a bite into the log. I assume the fish is long gone, I'm using braid, can't break it, can't get close enough in those shallows to get it worked free. I give one more hard tug and I can see the fish tail from under the log, HE'S STILL ON!! The graph showed 1.5' under the trolling motor, I'm guessing about crotch deep. Shoes off, socks on, I'm going in. Big fish of the day for me.

Egg sell lent weekend fishing and visiting with folks at camp.
