Default Can't wait till next Winter

when the weather gets good again!! I'm new here and all, but I expected nice weather in the spring. Between fronts, rain, wind and work, I haven't been able to fish in weeks. At least during the winter I was able to go a couple times a week. What's up with that? Is this normal?

Also, I hope to go fish somewhere new- maybe in the delta with my canoe. Any suggestions for good fish, good scenery- maybe a lake in a dome to keep off the wind?
    What?

No, this is not usual, we orderred it speshul just for you since you're new and all. To me, the wind has been unusually strong and constant this year, but the front after front thing is not uncommon.

Holler at Torch, he knows the places in the Delta that are protected from wind and can tell you which one to head to depending on the wind direction. Just don't tell him I said anything good about him.

T, seems like the winds and fronts have gotten worse in the last few years, and really affect the big lakes. I agree with you, it's been much easier to fish in the winter (spillway).

Try Wolf. With all the crooks and bends in it, you can always find a place to fish outa the wind. Has high banks and lots of trees along both sides to break the wind, too.

Is it fairly accurate to say on occasion the the wind usually doesn't kick up too terrible bad till about 8:30ish in the am and then settles some about 5:30ish pm??

I know it blows 24/7 on occasion, but more than not, at least up here, this AM/PM little trend does seem to be prevelant. Just askin---

And yes, I know it is much stronger when Wannabe is on the lake, and a little hotter too.HeeeHeee

Jimmy, that is definitely my experience with it this spring. There have been some days when I've been out there and never got a break from the wind. But usually every morning is calm or, at worst, calm-esque. I'd say 8:30/9am is a good guess, it might be a little later some mornings. The evenings are definitely calmer and are my favorite times to fish. By 6:30/7 it is so calm that the water is usually like glass, AND most other people are gone so that makes the water smoother too.

But, this is the first year I've fished since the mid-nineties. So my experience could just be a fluke.

Maybe I should try out the night fishing! Go at 6 like President Max and stay until 9 or 10. That might be alright! I just miss being on the water...

Trout, that right there is the spirit I'm trying to instill all members! Come on out. It's moderately warm, the fish bite is great, and there aren't too many folks out. OH oh the sky is beautiful too, and you don't have to look up to see it!

can't wait for Fall fishing and winter stable weather and only have to deal with the cold. this year has not been the best far too much rain. I spend to much time in my cabin while it blows.. keep smiling. Someone can't fish.. God Bless
