    Default Heading to Okatibbee

My father and I are taking a vacation to Okatibbe, first trip there. Any pointers for this lake would be much appreciated. We will get there this Saturday and fish through Thursday.

Sorry for not getting on this until now but been out of town for 5 days and just got in, haven't been on the lake in over a week but do believe they are headed to the shallows from the amount of boats a friend said were in the shallows. When are you coming here, are you camping or what? Send me a PM with your e-mail address if you would like more info as I find it. Okatibbee is not too hard in the spring just gets small in a hurry. Any suggestion is appreciated. I'm used to fishing the Pascagoula River system. Never fished one of these larger lakes, but we are gonna give it a try.

Default Glad I have a big boat.

Our trip was fun, but we really only fished one day. Okatibbee looked like the Gulf of Mexico. We did manage to limit out myself, my dad and my uncle in about two and half hours of catching on Sunday the 15th. Good bit of fishing before the catching. When we got in them it was non-stop. Jig color nor size mattered. We had a blast, just wish the wind had let us fish on more than one day. Thanks for the tips SteveJ, back to work.

We were in 5' of water, no real structure. When you hit them throw out a marker, they were in a tight wad. It was terrific.

Hope this works. I use picturetrail, think it does the resize for you.
