Effective July 1, 2023, a valid freshwater guide license will be required for any person that provides freshwater fishing guide services on any public waters in the state (north of I-10). ⁠
⁠License applications will be available for download on July 1, 2023, on our website. ⁠
⁠The license can be acquired in person from MDWFP Headquarters in Jackson, any MDWFP Regional Office, or by mailing applications to MDWFP. ⁠We understand the guide license rule begins July 1 and falls on a Saturday when agency offices are closed. Law Enforcement is aware of this timeline and will therefore be accommodating as guides begin acquiring the necessary licenses and decals on July 3.
