I'm certain it can be done, but not sure why it would be necessary. I plan on mounting my transducer on the barrel at first, if no good or bracket gets broke I can use the shaft bracket. Like the idea of having a fully functional secondary TM in case I need it, also can use the cone of the motor as a bumper of sorts. If drag concerns you, could also pull the prop off and store in the boat somewhere in case it was ever needed.
