    Default Electric choke

My boat has a 1989 Tracker two stroke. When I initially crank it I have to use the manual choke, then push the choke in and restart. Once cranked I’m good for the day.

I cannot do the initial crank using my electric choke on my key switch. I’ve checked and it appears the choke linkage is moving just as far with the electric choke as it’s the manual choke.

Any ideas why the electric choke doesn’t seem to work?

Take front cover off intake. Look at plates and make sure they are closing with electric choke. I suspect something is amiss with actuator from solenoid to plate arm not letting choke plate to close properly. Then use Manuel and see if it closes them more.

What make is the motor? Tracker has used OMC, Mercury and Force over the years. If it is an OMC there will be 2 fuel out lines to each carb. Pull lines off and see if fuel shoots out when key depressed
