    Default Oil For 4 Stroke

I have a 25 Yamaha, I’m trying to change the oil, Yamaha calls for 10w30, the ONLY marine oil I have found in Oxford Ms is Quicksilver 15w40. What kind of oil are you using in your 4 stroke engines. Thanks

Castorol, and if I can find a deal I use yamalube but that’s rare. Never had a problem using Castorol in any engine I put it in.

Castrol GTX is exactly what I use when out of Yamalube.

Back when I had a 4 stroke Yamaha I used Yamalube oil. Considering I only changed the oil about every 2 years it wasn't that bad to pony up the $20 for the 2qts of OEM oil. Like Cray said, you can run any conventional motor oil in it shouldn't hurt a thing. If it's under warranty I would go with the Yamalube, crappie depot in Batesville may carry it.

As long as it meets the specs I don’t think the brand matters. It’s all dead dinosaurs.
