Wow, what a day November 3rd, 2018 at Enid Lake was in the Mississippi Fruit Jar Series history!
36 teams signed up to fish, largest tournament in our history and we were fortunate to have one of the best hosts we have ever had for registration and weigh-in, Lakeside Grocery. Bubba Moore and his wife Tracy Moore took care of us like no other and if you haven't eaten one of their pizzas then you are missing out. They also provided the first place Big Fish prize for our tournament which was won by Vic Finkley with a 2.29 slab, a huge thanks to them.
Cannon Motors in Calhoun City provided our second place prize in the Big Fish portion of the tournament which was split between two teams due to a tie at 2.14, John Mayo/Billy Jones and Jeff Ward/Bill Burnett. Thanks to Cannon Motors in Calhoun City for your willingness to be a part.
Once again we need to thank Jack Wells at BnM Poles in West Point, as they have all year, they provided a $100 gift card from BnM as part of the first place prize in the tournament which was won by John Mayo and Billy Jones. Thanks Jack Wells for always being a willing part of our series.
Last but certainly not least we need to thank Troy Garrett at Factory Direct Furninture in Cleveland, MS for his drawing that was held for everyone who fished the tournament and was at the weigh-in. Troy provided two prizes, first was a $1,000 shopping spree at his store and the second was a $500 shopping spree. When the $1,000 card was drawn for a first time fisherman with the Fruit Jar Series heard his number called, Chris Fulcher! The second place draw found itself going to a crappie legend and an absolute pleasure to be around everytime we fish together, Vic Finkley, for $500! Congrats to Chris Fulcherand Vic Finkley and a super big THANK YOU to Troy Garrett for doing this!
Also need to thank everyone who came out and played a part in making history! It has been an awesome year so far, already have had over 100 people fish with us and have a good many already qualified for the championship. Without you this would not be happening and I for one am having a blast.
See y'all at Washington, first week in March!
