Finally got a chance to go. Between work, stuff around the house, and weather iv only been twice this year. Plan was to be on the water around 10 after it’s warmed up a little. I stopped for chicken strips and a Dr Pepper on the way. Get on the truck, turn the key, and nothing. Starter has given up the ghost. Now I have to put one on in a gas station parking lot. I’m twenty miles from the house and my saint of a wife goes and picks one up and brings it to me. All with a 14 month old in tow. A friend of mine shows up and 2 hours later I’m on the road. All is not lost. I’m pretty close to Columbus lake so I opt for the West Bank boat ramp. It’s 12:30 so I’ve still got time to put some time in. Get to the ramp, get everything ready, back the boat down, but something isn’t right. The boat never stops. The rope I keep attached to the winch has popped. No one else around. No boats. I think you see where this is going. I’ve got one option.
And if you’re wondering, the water is still cold in April.

I had one like that last year. Towed the boat from Olive Branch to Pickwick in the early morning dark. I got to the ramp at first light and I get in position to launch the boat. I look in the side mirror and the tire seems to be off kilter. I get out and both sets of trailer bearings are shredded. I was by myself and it was a Sunday so none of the stores or marinas around Pickwick are open. Long story short, I parked the boat at the EMS station and went to Savannah. The TSC store had hubs that would fit my trailer and I replaced them on both sides. Like you I went right home afterwards.
