I was hoping if anyone could give me a report on if anyone is having any luck on Grenada or atleast a starting point. Im coming in Sunday from Illinois and I was wondering if it will even be worth it. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Water mighty high. Fishing is going to be......um....different. I have not seen a spring with this kind of water in ten or fifteen years it seems like. I'm sure Rees can correct or verify. John?

Hate to tell you this but think you missed it about 2-3 weeks early this year. This high water has everything messed up. May find a few but between weather and high water going to be a tough row to hoe.Originally Posted by butla25

That's about my luck! With travel for work and kids' baseball only leaves you with 1-2 weekends to do anything. we will have to make the best of next week. hopefully the water will be somewhat stable for several days. May have to hit up Sardis and Enid as well. i cant say I remember a spring with water this high either or if I have fished Grenada this high.

Years and years ago, this level was about normal for Grenada in the spring. I'm talking mid 70's to mid 80's. My dad and I would motor for what seemed like miles to the backs of the coves around Choctaw and Greysport. I remember several times in March and April where we caught limits fishing off Greysport bridge.....when the water was aroud 231 or so, so high that boats were not able to go under the bridge. Those were the good times, lol. Jig fishing only, and we caught a bunch of crappie most of the year. This is as high as it has been in the spring in 15-16 years, would be my guess. But, after having said this, you can catch fish there when you come, if you can find them. There will be hundreds and hundreds of acres in new water, and finding them may be a challenge.
