Same here, when fishing deeper than 8 or 10 foot I go to 3s.
I use a Kentucky rig 99.99999999999999999% of the time which allows me to change weights pretty quick. When spider rigging I rarely crank up and move, I just add weight and speed and troll till I find them, never caught em running 40 mph and no minners in the water.
