and it will have a foul smell too !!!!!

Some lakes oxygen levels drop and fish go towards higher oxygen level spots such as creeks, vegetation, etc. In small ponds you get a fish kill.

Some lakes oxygen levels will be good all through the lake and the fish will be everywhere and harder to find a pattern.

I don't think it would turn over this late in the yr. generally around September when the nights get a lot cooler. Kinda like imagining the top water and bottom water swapping. I think your dealing with water dropping and the few frost we have had have killed a lot of the vegetation in the lake and the current is pulling it out. I don't fish Barnett but a handful of times a yr but that would make more sense to me right now.

Will do it in the winter as well, happens more when water is stationary with no current

Thanks for all the answers. I just wonder how it If effects the fishing tried shallow, deep, shallow in deep. Even followed the birds that were chasing the shed and just could not get any to bite
