    Default Moon Lake

Decided to take a trip to the delta this morning to fish a lake I've never been to. I was lucky enough to fish Tunica quite a few times before things went south. I started to ask for a report yesterday, but figured the best reports are the ones gathered yourself. Fished from 9am until noon, wind woke up and so did the fleas, ended up with 8 or 9 gar and one white bass, lot of missed bites that I reckon were gar as well. I'm sure there are some nice crappie in the lake, but pulling cranks 8' - 15' deep in 20 to 22 foot water produced none for me. Thinking a different approach may have yielded better results. Maybe single poling around those docks and cypress trees perhaps. Seems pushing minners would be a nightmare with all them gar in there. Oh well, sure is some beautiful scenery though, I took some pics. The lake has lots of history, pre dating the civil war even. It was a trip worth while either way, even if no crappie caught.

There is nothing quite like figuring out new water. I have heard of some pretty fantastic reports coming out of that lake this spring. I have also heard that there is a group of guys making a big push to keep the lake off of the interwebs, lol.

Lol, well it's working!! There were only 4 other boats fishing on the lake. Think two of them were bass fishing.

Hahaha, I reckon so. Sure does look like a pretty piece of water.

Is there a bait shop there? Been thinking about making a bream fishing trip there just to look it over. Me and my dad caught some nice bream there years a go.

Thanks. Just wondering whether to get crickets before I go or get them there.

I was raised about 10 miles from there. Used to be so polluted with farm chemicals you could not eat the fish..Glad to see it coming back some...
