Agree with all that's been said about advantages of braid. I use 30/8 Depth Hunter and almost never lose a bait. Just make sure your snap swivel is rated higher than the line rating or that will be your break point. I do buy a lot of replacement treble hooks. ��
The 30/8 runs about 10% deeper than the 10 lb mono charts.
Y'all talked me into the depth hunter. Seems easier with the different colors every 25ft to get to the desired depth. A lot easier than my set up I have right now.

How does braid perform longlineing jigs ? A lot of long liners swear by 6 lb mono. I like to keep my stuff set up to swap over easy. I'd rather loose a few cranks than swap my line on line counters several times a year.
Been running Power pro 15 or 20 a few years now.Happy as a clam with it.If I'm hung on wood, Use a homemade hounddog lure retriever.Don't lose very many.

I may go to braid next time I swap new line then. I have a buddy that just recently swapped out 10 year old braid. But he only spider rigs, and crankbaits. No longline. Apparently it last a long time. I replace the first 200+ft of my stren hiviz every year. Something to consider :dono
Something else to keep in mind, braid tangles are a nightmare. Mono can usually be worked out, braid has to be cut
