Dang!!!
You know, I was not sure that I wanted to get into this conversation cause so many people have strongly help positions on this topic, but......
I really do not think that posting pics or fishing reports on crappie.com is doing as much damage as people think. I suspect a larger problem is the writing in professionally published fishing magazines and the advertising produced by the professional guides in the state. Do not take offense, guys! I have no problem with sharing our public resources with anybody, and if you can make a living by taking people fishing, more power to you. Sounds like a great way to pay the bills. My point is this. Even if all of the pleasure anglers on C.Com agreed to never put another picture on our little website, InFisherman is still going to publish a million copies of their magazine featuring a report on the "Arc of Slabs" (look it up). A local guide that I follow on Facebook has posted a photo almost every day for the past several weeks with huge limits (multi-boat limits) of massive slab crappies. I suspect facebook has more users by far than crappie.com. Again, I am not complaining about this, just pointing it out.
My point is simple. No matter how we on crappie.com decide to proceed about the posting of fishing pics and reports, the word is out, and it is being spread by people who's financial well-being depends on the word getting out. You are not going to change that, so getting angry at each other here on this little website is really just a waste of time.
Relax. Fish. Pray. Life can be simple.
Oh sure, blame it on the outdoor writers... LOL... But, if I call you up, and want to feature you in article, will you turn me down?
Nope. Live to share all my secrets with you and your readers. And to be clear, I am not "blaming" anybody. That's like blaming fire for being hot. It's just the way it is. But I still stand by my position. More people read the infisherman article about the "arc of slabs" than read my post about a successful fishing trip in Enid three years ago.....

Welcome to the computer age!! When you live your life on Facebook, public forums such as crappie.com, etc., nothing is private anymore. It's not going to get better, it's not going to change.
People are aware of the big 4 because of Facebook, crappue.com, friends of theirs and advertising in panfish magazines.
I will tell you though, it comes off as incredibly selfish to even think you have the right to get upset over out of state people spending their hard earned money to drive to MS and fish.

OK, another one I think we need to close before feeling are hurt. We've beaten this horse way to death.
I still ask you to post pics, but do not feel obligated to post location information. It's entirely up to you. We want to remain a family here, and we want to remain family friendly. Now go out there and go fishing. Don't forget the "Teach a fish" contest thread here on the MS forum: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/missi...d-strike-king/
