TN boy weighing in, because I am impressed with this thread. I have never fished in Mississippi, and have never even laid eyes on these famous lakes. And, yes, they are famous! This time of year is when everyone becomes a great crappie fisherperson. Well, everyone but me! IMO, trips are going to be made, and those in colder climates are going to migrate toward warmer climates for these trips. Does it coincide with this or that fishing report? Certainly, and I think that is what the OP is saying. If there were no reports would they come? Most definitely. I am seeing the "park in the grass" time of year here in TN. I saw it this weekend on Watts Bar, and go through the archives and see how much detail you find on that lake. The answer, not many. Somehow people knew the fish were here. Why? How? Again, my opinion, it's spring! We all become pros! Well, all but me. I am going to trust those in power to understand how much pressure our lakes can take, and set creel and size limits accordingly.
