71.6? Dang it heated up fast. It was mid 50s Sunday

Went out this afternoon for a few hours. Wind not too bad. Water temp at sawdust pile and s-curve 71.6 degrees. Tried deep with minners and caught a few. I think they've gone shallow. Lots of boats fishing the channel around the s-curve but didn't see many being caught. Creek channel near sawdust pile not very productive either. Coming home from Fannin landing at 6PM crossing the causeway there were probably 12 boats or more fishing both sides close to the rocks. I saw 2 boats landing fish as I passed....

Yeah, Don, it did. Guy fishing near me said it muddied up some too. His water temp matched mine so has to be right.
Water temp was 63 yesterday around horseshoe
It was 60° on Monday so it had to be coming up quick.

I fish, therefore I am!
All I know is when it splashes up on you it's chilly.
We fished Alvin island area trolling ledge on river channel, woulda done some damage if not for dead t-motor battery. Catching big females same as Sunday: 16 foot deep in 20+ fow up and down ledges.
Tried grass near s curve and picked up 6 large females in a hurry. Brothere in law wanted to go to gas line grass bed and leave fish to catch em. We burned last light chasing greener pastures that weren't so green. Ended up with 16 nice fish.
Alvin Island? That the one North of Gilligans?
