    Default Saturdays on Barnett

Why do bass fishermen think it's ok to run WOT through the middle of a bunch of crappie boats?

It happened at least 10 times this morning. Once two boats came through side by side and had to weave through the crappie boats. They never let up.

I was nowhere near the channel markers BTW.

I've wondered that myself. My dad taught me to always slow down when passing by other fisherman. No respect. I guess with those big boats that go fast, they feel the need to go fast.

We call them Bass_ol_s. Lol. They're always in a hurry. It's that way on every lake that has bass tourneys. There will be a tourney every weekend for the next 5-6 weeks

Tell me about it! I started off on the main lake first thing this morning and had just enough time to get all my lines out to realize I needed to change game plans for the day due to boat traffic and wind. Packed back up and headed north to get out of the wind. Took till 3 o clock but got my 30 and come on home. While I was fishing said spot I had at least 15 bass fisherman come thru fishing the bankS all around me and never saw a single bass caught. I caught 8 bass while trolling and 2 that would had went 3-4 pounds in the deeper water. I even thought about joining the next bass tournament and just spider rig minnows and jigs.

It's not all just bass fishermen, I've had crappie fishermen pass so close at high speed I could touch them with a 14' pole. I was there 2 weeks ago, everyone was fishing the channel, bass guys were trying to run through on their way to God only knows where, while the crappie guys were a cussin'. Noticed no less than 5 crappie fishermen who left the middle of the pack at full throttle, doing the same as the bass guys. I love the lake but hate the inconsiderate people.

Just like the guys that blow through the Hwy 43 bridge wide open...

Yep, you warned me about them, and they almost ran over us last weekend. It's a shame that we cannot fish just below the bridge because of all the boat traffic zooming through there...
