We fished Washington Saturday and Sunday. Like others have posted you could catch fish at all water depths. Some were single pole jig fishing and catching males around cypress trees.
Saturday was a little tough for us we mainly fished straight minnows and teasers with minnows. Marked lots of fish and shad, caught nice fish just not many.
Sunday was much better, fished jigs tipped with minnows, best colors for us was blue and white, pink and chartreuse. Fished 3 spots on lake at different depths, we caught fish at each location but the sweet spot for us was 12 to 14 FOW range, fishing with about the same amount of line out. Fished seemed to hit better for us with more speed so baits were running shallower. Some others have mentioned that long liners were doing well, we noticed that also so we just let more line out and bumped the speed up.
Expect lots of boat traffic and company! Good Luck!

Bandchaser, the minnows we got Friday at Roy's were pretty small, but it seems we caught more fish on them than the bigger minnows we got from Baits-N-Thang's on Sunday morning. I will say you get more bang for your buck on minnows at Baits-N-Thangs, no disrespect to Mrs. Pam or her staff, but Bait's-N-Thangs were very generous with their minnow count.
I would think they both get their minnows from the same place???
Sent you a PM. I'll be down Saturday afternoon if you will be around fishing and want to check it out
