Loop knot is the ticket.. Keeps jig horizontal and makes it much easier to get free when you drop it in the thick stuff...

loop knot . 8lb. unless fishing ultra clear then it's 6 or even 4 lb. test . Stren original clear blue fluorescent .

I painted a yard sign black and put it on my work bench when tying double minnow rigs and such. I really helps to see the hi-vis line when I am tying in the shop. I also drive a short piece of wire into the work bench to hold 3 way swivels while tying. The arthritis in my hands is as much a hindrance as my eye sight.
If you try the snaps definitely get the stainless ones .![]()
