If I was driving that far.....I would go to Sardis or Enid.

Or Grenada, nice pasture pool facilities at Grenada and Sardis.

Yep, the fees at the state lakes is a little much. I understand charging some but 12 bucks for me and Feesherman to fish Kemper together is a bit too much. I looked at the annual and think it was 170 to cover launching and anyone in the boat with me. COE is 40 and covers all COE ramps in the country.

The real bummer is that when you buy the permit(150.00) for someone to go without paying , they still have to pay to park . My brother from Amory has to meet me outside the gate. May as well pay the extra two dollars .

The first time down in 06 my neighbor, Lee, had picked Trace as our destination. He owns a restaurant and one of his customers went there every spring. He had everything planned, had tips on where to fish, where to get groceries, etc. The one thing he forgot was a map. My other buddy, Jeff, had just gotten a new phone with gps. We were heading west on I 40 and Jeffs phone starts telling us to get off on the next exit, I think it was Jackson, Tn. We couldn't get Lee to listen to the gps and not follow the directions he printed off the internet. We ended up driving clear to Memphis then backtracking to Tupelo. It's funny now but at the time it was anything but. I'm thinking that trip was way over 12 hours.
