Ventured below Pickwick dam to try spider rigging for crappie before my Tennessee license run out. We only catfish there so it was our first time for Crappie. Definitely not the big 4 size. Caught them 20 to 23 foot deep on minnows. Better fishing above the dam. I doudt I will be renewing my Tennessee license.![]()
Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

I was OK with that myself. Nice to be out and about anyway. But we can catch that size crappie closer to home. It's 86 mile from my house to the Dam and only 47 miles to Sardis. I can fish above the dam with my Mississippi License. We catch some good fish in the upper lake.
