Default First trip to Mississippi and heading to Washington

Hello all my fellow crappie catchers. Just got word that next March i will be heading a little future south than my annual Reelfoot trip. Heard alot of good things about Washington and excited about the opportunity of a 3#. I feel fortunate to know about the trip now with upcoming holiday sales and time to prep for the trip. I'm not looking for anyone's honey holes but just a little friendly advice ...... Normal water temps that time of year, forage, north or south end of the lake, Dippin, Pushing/Pullin, longlining or most popular methods for Late March. Anything will help!
Hopefully everyone is still knockin down there.

First Dave, I see where you joined in 2012 and only have 6 posts. Where ya been, man!!! Secondly, you'll enjoy Washington, but if you want a place to stay on the lake, you'd better get on the horn NOW!!!! That's the truff... As for the what, when, where, and how's of the adventure....you'll just have to see what the weather brings. Last year, first week end of March, we were pushing minners/jigs in 6-8 fow and having some fun. Rule of thumb: Look for the boats and copy what they're doin. Good luck..... you'll have a ball.

Try Doe's in Greenville while your down. A half hour drive from Washington, but worth it for an evening meal, great steaks. Be plenty of mud bugs as well that time of year coming up from the south, few good spots around that area for 'em. Can't help with fishing, but I do know eating,
.. Lol.. Good luck and keep us posted!

We will be down for a week so we will definitely head that way one of the evening's.... another question about your lake. Is your Open Water covered with stumps and brush or is it a clean bottom?

Clean bottom for the most part, lots of cypress along the banks and prolly a couple hundred docks. Swiftly becoming one of my favorite lakes.

You guy's are awesome! Very informative and eager to help.... you don't find that anywhere else but the south. Dippin, pushin, and shootin. What more can you ask for. We do a lot of shootin up here in Missouri.... one of them Untold secrets that produce very well in the spring

It's a trollers lake until they get up in the trees. Very different lake, but I love it. Need local wardens support to eliminate the local abuse. It's a great fishery. 104 days until we invade Lake Washington!

Be hard to catch a 3 anywhere this time of year but Grenada would be a better choice for bigger fish. IMO, Washington is on a slide down hill for size. 11-12" fish are the norm right now.
