I have been running dropshot style kentucky rigs this past year and love them. Less snaggy for sure. I started out just palomar knotting hooks to the mono leader with a dipsey swivel sinker at bottom and a brass swivel at the top. I stored them by wrapping on a noodle and then when ready I snap swivel these rigs on to my yellow power pro mainline with a snap swivel. But it seemed the knot would slip down causing the hook to hang vertical instead of horizontal so I went the Standout hooks. Worked great but expensive plus they sometimes wound up on themselves to I went to VMC spin shots. Great product but real expensive. Almost a buck a hook. I found these size 21 drop shot clips on Barlow Tackle and now I can put whatever hook I want on. Super cheap. Granted there is a couple of extra knots to tie than standard rigs but what else do you want me to do, like talk to the wife about her day. I attached a couple of pics. I just found these Matzuo 1/0 xwide jbend worm hooks (hook at the top left) and I plan to start tying up gnats/minner critters on these. So I have a DIY spinshot gnatsy set up now.

Oh I forgot to say I can make these for 25-40 cents a piece when buying bulk depending on which hook you use. Beats the heck outta 4.50/5 pack of vmc spinshots.

Go to Captinhooks and get some of the new EagleClaw Aberdean strait shank sickle hooks. Them worm hooks are rough on a minner.

Nope that is the Jig hook designed to fit in a jig mold. It would lay on its side for what he is wanting to do.. These.

I'd like to find some Aberdean hooks with the eye inline with the hook like jig hooks are made.
