I use 2 18" drift socks to slow my roll when using the big motor. Works like a charm. 18"ers are cheap too. I use the el cheapo plastic ones in the summer. Caught em on sale at Academy for 8 bucks each. They store in the boat much better than a bucket.

I also use these when I want to move a faster with the wind when I push minners. They slow ya down, but not to a crawl. I have a pair of 36"ers to do the same thing when the wind is heavier. Bought those for the same price.

Good advice downsouth. I've caught a sock in the prop before. Short rope is more fun that getting a long one off of the prop.
