Default Update on Fish Cleaning Stations at Enid......

......for those of you fishing at Nader heading back north. The stations on the spillway are not operable. Go to Wallace Creek boat ramp to that one. Be prepared to clean up someone else's mess they left. Some people have no regard for anybody else. I always leave one clean, I wish everybody would do that....But, that ain't gonna happen!

We've had some great fish cleaning stations shut down for this very reason. KY Dam State Park and Kenlake State Park have both shut theirs down because of the manpower it was taking to clean them. I'd like to blame it on Yankee tourists but some of the worst offenders are locals(could be Yankee transplants?LOL). I'd like to slip the carcass of a 10 pound catfish under their truck seat.

I agree mrdux. I think it's more likely the locals but maybe some visitors, too. It's shameful that you can't clean up your own mess and make it harder for others!

Would be easier to clean afterwards if they had ANY water pressure.

You are 100% correct about that, feelay. I can "pee" with more pressure than most of 'em, and I'm an old man! I think they have the pressure, but I think the shower heads are clogged up...need to be dipped in some calcium. I usually take my empty cooler and get water from the faucet to clean up my mess.

I use one that has an ol-timey hand-lever well pump you have to prime to get water out of it. Still better than cleaning them on the tailgate of my truck(which I do often for clients). At least I don't have to get rid of carcasses, the turtles take care of those.

I clean the Wallace Creek station about six times a year with bleach, soap, and a stiff bristle brush. Got permission from
the Corps to do that. I carry a snake hose in the truck to clean up after cleaning my fish. Like you said, some people just don't
care, but others would clean up after themselves if they had enough water pressure to do so. You either have to use a bucket, cooler, or hose that you brought with you.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

Cossar has a first class cleaning facility, strong water and powerful grinder.

Thanks, Steve. You would think the Corps could do better.....they have a bigger budget than 'ssippi does.

I took my own water pressure. Usually there is a spigot close by so I take a hose.
