Got to watch the line as you turn. If you turn to sharp, they'll go under the boat. Just takes practice. Wait til you're pulling 8 cranks at one time. Gets real interesting when you have a cross wind lol

or when the terrova decides to do a death spin. that was the day I figured to put different colored line on each reel.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.

I don't have a terrova either, but use the big motor to pull cranks. Works better than using my foot control TM at the moment. I can idle along at 1.8 to 2mph. I may have to invest in a trolling plate before long if I see the need to decrease my speed. I like it cause it's a change from rigging or single pole fishing, and also gives me another tactic to use when those guys get out in deeper water. My favorite thing about it is the ability to cover a lot water quickly. I wouldn't let not having an I pilot TM stop me from using cranks

Before I purchased a Terrova I had the problem of the wandering foot control. One thing that works real well is a restriction collar from trollperfect.basseast.com. It works really well in wide open flats like you have in the summer at the BIg Four. Basically set your speed, point in the right direction and tighten the screw. This basically restricts the side to side movement of the lower shaft. You may want to try that.

Couple 5 gallon buckets out the back work great to slow you down. That don;t work, just tie your favorite Fishing partner to the boat and chunk him or her overboard lol Tell them it's a science exerament

Lol, see macpappy.. throw Don out the back of the boat with some floats on. Keep your lines un tangled for ya, reduce the speed and if he gets bored give it some throttle.. he can do some bare footin'...
