    Default 3/25/2016 Archusa report

The wife and I finally got out and caught a few more Friday morning. Was cold around 44° so we got a late start about 8:00AM but still got a couple of good messes. The wife seems to always catch a bass or two so I help the crappie fishing environment out by filleting and eating them also. Hoping everyone has a good Easter Sunday.

I rode over there from Meridian about a month ago just to check things out. Is the water always that low?

No that was the winter drawdown period. They do that every year because of the early spring rains to help with flooding. They have raised the water back to the normal water height now. They will hold the water at this normal stage until about November then draw it down again for the next spring rains. They say these reservoirs are for flood control first and recreational purposes last.

That's good. I might give it a try tomorrow from the bank. If it's a bust I can always run by the hospital and hang out with the wife while she's at work. She never noticed the lake there until I took her by there.

    Thanks for the report!
Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.
