Wasn's the town of Arkabutla moved as well?

I've tried finding info about this as well. My grandmother was born in Coldwater in 1924 and got married and moved to tunica in I believe 1941.. just before the town was relocated. Most of her family remained after the relocation, but eventually moved away for the most part. I remember being a kid and we would drive to Memphis from Grenada my grandmother would stop on 306 @ coldwater to see the sites. Wish I could remember all the stories.. she passed away in 09. North of 306, in between 51 & 55 and south of the river is all I know. It's all under water currently, but I may check it out this summer when it dries up. There is the monument on 306 (I'm sure you know) with said remnants off the old town.. that goes back into existing sloughs now and flood land. It's definitely under water now. I passed thru yesterday...

Also, I never knew about a town of Arkabutla I'm really intrigued now. There is a few old structures around Hernando point not sure if they pre date the flooding of the valley..

I got a buddy I need to remember to ask him about Arkabutla. He was born and raised there and lived most of his life right there at the edge of the town of Arkabutla. His folks were from there also. I bet he knows some info on it.

Look at google earth where Snubbys said. I see a few foundations on the east side of the rail line. Most of them were removed or used when building the levees for hwy 51 and the rail line.
I've never heard any stories about Arkabutla being moved.
Most roads to ramps, points and access areas were roads or driveways to farms at one time. Walking these areas I've found a few old foundations, fence rows and sometimes an old house.

Found this quite interesting, I'm assuming this is the same John A. Murrell who contributed to the name Skull Bone prior to being changed to Arkabutla after the Indian Chief. Quite a busy fellow and lived to the ripe old age of 38, who would have think it?? Lol...
