    Default Lower Sardis

Been seeing some nice fish being caught out of the outlet channel dumping into Lower Sardis. Maybe there is hope for the lower lake this spring? Probably not I'm sure the carp will destroy what fish are coming in and eat the eggs of the spawning survivors in April.

Are jumping carp in there? I thought there was a spillway where it dumped into the river. I've only been on the lower a couple times.

There is a weir where the lake goes back into the river. It's silted in pretty good now so a lot of water rolls over it. A strong enough fish could swim over it.

There is also a gated spillway on the N. side of the weir that the COE opens at various times during the winter.

    Default Lower Sardis

Spider rigged the lower lake yesterday. Only had 3 over 10" and the bite was slow. Lots of 6-8" fish. They have been catching some good ones there with decent numbers, but I guess it was just a slow day.

Never saw a flying carp, but I've heard they are there.

We threw our three back for another day.

We fished the lower lake a month or so ago and I tell you without question the jumping carp are in there. We saw several jumping while we trolled. By the way, we never caught a single fish.
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.
