    Default Rainbow trout!

They stocked rainbow trout in lake Lamarr Bruce this past week. You are allowed three per person per day no length limit.
Biggest crappie to date is 3 lb 9 oz at grenada in 1988. Still hangs on my wall.

They put them in the small fishing lake to catch over the winter.
JACKSON -The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) stocked approximately 600 rainbow trout into the bank-fishing pond at Lake Lamar Bruce near Saltillo. According to MDWFP Fisheries Biologist Tyler Stubbs, "This stocking will provide anglers with a unique fishing opportunity during the winter months. In addition, the trout create a great opportunity to introduce youth or new anglers to fishing because they will be easy to catch."

Anglers can harvest up to three trout per person per day with no size restrictions. Anglers must have a valid fishing license and a state lake daily or annual fishing permit to fish in the pond.

Got a couple of lakes in Germantown and Collierville they stock them in. Getting people out to utilize the parks. They will live in the still water as long as it is cold enough. Soon as it warms up they die off. From what I understand they get a lot of folks with their kids out to fish for them. Pretty easy to catch Hatchery raised trout. Great way to get kids involved.

They stock trout in the little park lake in West Memphis in the winter. What isn't caught won't survive the warmer months and become turtle bait.

They aren't worth much for eating, but it's fun to catch something different/pretty, especially for a youngster. Good job MDWFP.
