and you fish about 3 feet deep when fishing for crappie?
Cut in 4 pieces and soak in a liquid fish attractor for smell. The 3' or so is to keep out of the rocks, go do a trial and error and see what works best for you, may be deeper who knows with out doing it. Crappie eyes are on top so you want the lure above them. Only way to learn what works is to keep trying.

also i see lots of people bottom fishing but wouldnt that be horrible due to being hung up on the rocks?anyways yeah should be easy to crappie fish then if only need to be no lower than 3 feet i see most guys with tub or feather jigs wit corks slowly reeling them across the water for crappies not as many minnow guys so guessing jigs work better due to the gar there
