    Default Hunkered Down

Wind and storm came up pretty quick and the wind is blowing straight into the ramp I used so I pulled in behind an island and tied up. Hasn't got bad here but looks like it's on the way pretty quick.

With where I put in RUN was not an option, by the time I coulda got the trailer backed down the ramp my boat would have sank. Sun is shining now but the wind is howling, it did change to a more westerly direction and made loading a lot eaiser, sitting in the easy chair right now.

Rees Guide; Sounds like you have been there and done that before. A lot of people would not have known what to do and would like you said sank the boat. Best to get out before it gets bad but sometimes it will get bad before you know it. Thats when knowing what to do comes in handy, like you said get behind a island or something to break the wind. Large lakes are even worse than small lakes like the one I fish. But winds can get up in a hurry at times and it can be real trouble for a person that doesn't know what they are doing. We were sitting in the back yard this evening and heard something out front when I went around in the front yard there was a big tree that had blown down in the highway. My neighbors and I cut it up and got it out of the highway. I was just glad no one was coming down or up the road when it fell. Wind has been a real problem this year for my fishing as I just don't like to fight with that foot control trolling motor all day. Well glad you knew what to do and made it home safe.
Be safe and good luck fishing
