yes it will be strong enough...I single pole jig with one and handle them just fine. As far as places to stay in grenada I am no help. I know that you will get tons of responses on here from some members that are more familiar with places to stay.

My son and I will be traveling down from Truman to fish this spring and I have a question.is my 12' bmjp strong enough for your big slabs and should I get any longer poles? Also any suggestions on where to stay? Any other other help would be appreciated..

Its plenty strong enough personaly I prefer a 10 ft when using single pole. Ozark rod 10 ft rear seat to be exact. But if your lucky enough to find one open the cabins at hugh white st park are nice and alot of people stay at the #8 motel it out close to the lake. If there are no openings there grenada is full of hotels.

Sorry I haven't gotten back been working overtime for trip money. I have a 10' Ozark and 12' bmpj spider rig rods. But I haven't worn my waiders for a while. I know it depends on the Dee weather but my son wants to mostly spider rig do I need to plan the trip early in February?
