I was standing in the middle of Sardis in February. Air temp was 28. Don't remember water temp other than it WAS cold (and shallow). LOL

I have a $50 reward for the first one to delete that picture from BRM's cell phone.
That white line of stuff above my boat are ducks that are walking NOT swimming. Big difference.

I usually spider rig jigs during the winter and spring while the crappie are relating more to cover. After the spawn, crappie tend to leave the cover and scatter while following the schools of shad. That's when I get the crankbaits out. When water temps start dropping in the fall the crappie will start their migration back to their favorite brush tops and stumps. And that's when I'll change back to the jigs. You can still catch crappie with cranks all year but in lakes which have lots of stumps, you'd loose a lot of crankbaits when the fish are holding in the cover.

Jimmy I just got a report from the lake and the water temps this morning are 74 and will most likely warm to 80 by mid afternoon if the sun comes out.
