    Default Water Temp

Is there a rule of thumb surface water temp that signals when you should switch from cranking to spider rigging?

Not trying to be a smart ars but in my opinion there are no rules of thumbs crappie fishing. Some opinions are different and people will tell you a temperature they go by.....but I'm sure someone somewhere has had there best day ever on a temperature several degrees less than what was mentioned. Crazy huh.

What about this weekend when we the low around here is supposed to drop to around 48. Will one night of cooler weather like that make the crappie change their patterns that quick or does it take a day or two for them to change patterns with the cooler water temps.

Takes a few days of cooler air temps to drop water temps and effect the fish.
