    I have never pushed any that deep only push 12-13 ft. And use 3 oz but my understanding is use enough weight to keep your line from laying back any less than The 45 degrees.

    The 4 oz will work that deep. If your line is going down at an angle less than 45 degrees, the formula for determining your depth does not apply. You would need to increase the amount of line out to get to your desired depth.

    Got my weights over the weekend and am setting up. What rods do u fellows use?

    A fairly stiff rod helps. I've used from 8 1/2 ft to 12 ft rods with equal success.

    I have been useing B and M PST's 10, 12, and 14 ft. but there are lots of others that will handle the weight also.
