It's not late it's just that the lake level was perfect for that little cove for this time of year. After this rain and cold front that spot is dead. More rain Friday also and that's when they should be dumping again.

Just passing info on the spawn. No intentions. There's over 200 miles of shoreline that them fish are working. And only about 1/4 mile gets worked over when the level and spawn hits the exact time. That's because grandma can drive her car there and get her limit. Glad those folks got to catch some fish this weekend. That spot is over after rain runoff arives no more driving out there.
Well, those boys had them a good time out next to the road to the Indian Mound this weekend. I agree with this rain that spot will be toast. I hear that today somebody went through that area in an air boat and took all their hats off at one time.
I agree with Takem. There ain't no fish at Sardis anymore. Y'all should stop short at Reelfoot or Arkabutla.
Hey.. Ain't no fish in arkabutla anymore.. Y'all know that.. Nothing to see there.. Move along.
Sardis was unreal Saturday. Had a 2 man limit in 2 hours. 4 foot of water down to 18" of water. They are doing it!!
You boys better all get up there and get em while the gettings good. Breaks my heart the spawn will be over before long :-)
I'm glad that spawn is about over with. Personally, I don't like to catch the spawning males since they're so important for a good spawn. It wouldn't hurt my feelings if they closed the lakes to fishing during the spawn.
I like catching them shallow, but I agree we need to protect this great fishing experience for future generations.
I could say the same thing about trollers snatching them out of there staging zones there's no difference. Yanking them in at 8' of water or yanking them in 8" of water. The difference is water depth that's it. Can't wade in 8' and you can't troll in 8". They should lower the pole limit to 2 each and and raise the length back to 12". That's my opinion and I troll.
