That's when it's fun. Catching big fish in there faces. Each area has hot spots each hot spot has a hot spot to place that jig. Placement is key.

Slab, I definitely agree, and I didn't mean for my words to be understood as hate. In my mind, it was just venting. I don't know why, but we often feel better after sharing our misery with people who have experienced the same misery. I guess it's why there are support groups for pretty everything.

I was in the wrong for sure.

BigBlue you ain't kidding. This is only my second year wading and fishing this shallow, and I am still working out kinks. Last year, I fell in with some seasoned waders, and they would catch 5 fish to my 1, maybe more. But I enjoy wading even when I ain't catching. It is just so much more fun than being confined to a boat seat, and when the tip of my pole slaps the water, I am like a little kid on Christmas morning!

I bet it saves a ton on gas too! Seems every time I take my boat to a lake! it cost me at least $100 bucks.. And that's without buying something to eat besides a bag of chips and a coke, I need a fishing partner to share expenses,,,lol

You ain't kidding. I have a small boat with a 15hp motor, and it will burn up 5 gallons of gas in a trip if I have to do alot of moving around. When I'm wading, I just ride my 4 wheeler across the road from my house, and I'm in the water. My honda don't use much gas at all. This time of the year, I can fish all over my side of the lake without having to load up on the trailer.

one of my biggest bass was caught while I waded down a bank some boaters had just fished. They could not position their boat correctly in the wind. I could get where I needed to be for proper lure presentation. I always thought that wading didn't scare them as much as boats bumping along. Caught lots of big bass right next to either me or a compadre.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
