Too windy to wade
I new to the wading system of fishing. This is only my second year to be doing it, so I'm still learning some interesting facts about it. Today was a new experience.
Wading is, by its nature, difficult. My waders are the type with the boot built on to it, and the boots run a little too big on the inside. On the outside they look like snowshoes! Huge. So walking in the muddy lake bottom is not easy. I have learned to carry a stick with me so I can pull my feet out of the mud as I walk. The interesting thing about wading (and the point of this thread) is that the deeper you get the easier it is to walk. Makes sense. I never thought about it, but it is sensible. Waders are waterproof so the deeper one goes into the water the more the waders float. Where I was today, the wind was right in my face, and I waded and waded. I quit when I realized that I was nothing but a cork float. I would raise my leg to take a step and the wind would blow me back. It was pretty fun! But...
Today it was too windy to wade!
