    Default Single Pole?

Hey guys heading down to Sardis next week. I was wondering if you think we would be better off spider rigging or should i be bringing a single pole for casting as well? Its my understanding that once the spawn hits you will want the single pole for getting close to the banks.

More than likely single pole, but I'd bring my trolling gear just in case

Casting?? We need more water right now to get back in the creeks. Most single polers don't cast to them until they get in the grass(high water). We take a long rod and work a jig really slow around structure. There will be folks casting around the dam though. They like to work the area around the earth quake thing.

I dont really have a long pole so except my fly rods which i think would be a hoot. So it would be casting a bobber with a minnow. May have to come up with a long rod though. I prefer to spider rig down there but want to be able to be where the fish are.

Not sure what you spider rig with but if they are 12'they will work. If not a jig pole is a must. We don't do much casting, don't care much for a cork. Good luck

I know now several people who jig fish with fly rods. That's all my father owns

hhmmm you guys have me thinking now. Our rigging rods are 14fters so a little long for jigging, but my fly rod is 9ft i could throw some 8lb test on the end and we would be in business. Or I may run to bass pro or cabelas this weekend. Any jigging rod/reel combos you guys prefer?

B & M Ultra lite, Sam Heaton or one of the double touch Duck Commanders should fill the bill nicely.
