Buddy way to go on being only a fish hair from first place last weekend. But then again you do put fish in the boat. Joel came in second place in the Amateure divison of the USA super event at Pickwick.

Have you noticed what speeds been best?? Seem like I done better going faster maybe just covering more ground idk?? I need GPS cause speeds a guessing game but I do have cheap sonar. I've been doing steady 1mph and faster to get over humps in shallow spots. I hear people say go .08 mph and pull 18in x fow fish are at. I know some days and windy days especially id have 50 yards of braid out to get it close to the bottom. Is that just plain to fast or does the braid not sink as well?? I'm using power pro 10lb line. Two 1/4 oz jigs with grub. Its hard to stay consistent without GPS but I do get close as I slow down they all drag at same time but it takes me few minutes to get a pole reset at the right depth as I let more and more out. Could it possibly be just getting the line further away from the boat why I'm doing better or just simply to fast and needs more line out to get deep?? Seems every time I see fish on finder I get bite sometimes I do without seeing but more when I do see them. This was all through the dates of 3-14 thru 3-26-14
What's your thoughts Joel on how to get better or what am I doing wrong?? Thanks
