    Default My new team idea

Ok friends, I have an idea I want to run by y'all. I need input, suggestions, potential sponsors etc.
I'm thinking of fishing next years and maybe a few this year with a new and different type of team. A wounded veterans/ police officer team. At every tournament I would fish with either a wounded soldier, police officer or a fallen soldiers child. A different one at every tournament. This would be a HUGE under taking and ill need help and well as sponsors willing to donate time and products. Any winnings or profit would go to either the family or a charity. Please give me your thoughts on this as I need to make a decision pretty quick due to the size of this project.

I like the idea but like you said it is going to be a huge undertaking. Some clubs have rules about fishing with different partners, that is one of the most immediate problems I see. I am sure things could be worked out, where there is a will their is a way

Tournament fishing is not for everybody, but just fishing is. There is no stop watch when just fishing, who cares if u loose the big one when just fishing, who cares if your a few minutes late when just fishing, etc. just saying.... U will have to interview each donee and see if that's what they like. Good luck

The idea here is not to win or lose the tournament, it's to offer a chance to wear a pro fishing jersey and fish with people you see on tv and in magazines. Who knows how many of those guys actually wanted to do that before being wounded. It's also to bring attention to our wounded soldiers, what they have been thru and will still have to endure.

I think you'll have a hard time coming up with 10-15 soldiers a year willing to competitively fish. How many wounded warriors do you know?

It sounds like a wonderful project to me. I am sure you can find enough people that would like to fish with you. Heck some of them may have never had the chance because life on their end may not have given them that chance, All I can say is go for it. Should you decide to go with a tourney of your on you might contact the wounded warror project and try to put together a small tournement where a wounded warroir fishes with a boat owner.
    FISH ON
