I can remember a bunch of years ago when ever piece of standing timber on the East end of Sardis had at least one board nailed to it with 2 yoyo' attached. One on either end. And some of the bigger ones would have 2 boards with 2 ea.

They work great. Wouldn't go pulling cranks and run them. Best thing to do is put em out and go jig around them stay within sight and sound of them. It's really fun running them at night now that's exciting.

A guy I worked with use to run them at Enid, Water Valley Landing. That was before a size limit and daily limit was 50.

They used to be all over Sardis but not in quite a few years. All the trees are done rotting away. Lot of trouble handing boards for 15 fish. Piney Point used to be full of them. Guys would camp out and run them all day/night. I recall them starting the motor and running crazy all thru the trees making waves. Claimed it stirred the bait fish up and made em bite better. I don't care for them myself for crappie, but to each their own.

When the Mississippi hits 22 ft at Memphis you can have a lot of fun with about 30-40 yo-yos on Midway Lake in Arkansas. some non-stop action with a boatload of catfish . Til 11 or so and when the bugs go in they stop and you can go home.

Same thing on old town when the Arkansas leaf crawlers come out.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
